Fundraising
Unfortunately, California schools are not funded well enough to cover all the programs, supplies or activities we would like to provide for ALL our children. Due to a downturn in the economy and other factors, we are facing very tight school budgets. California has the largest student population in the nation, with the most diverse needs, yet we are 46th in the nation in per pupil funding. The PTA tries to help by raising funds in a variety of ways listed below.

Bi-monthly Recycling Drives
Aluminum Cans and approved plastic containers are collected bimonthly and recycled at the local station. Each classroom has a designated container for its cans. Classrooms get to keep the money they earned by recycling. The money is used for special activities or resources for the class. Many thanks to the parents who carry out this important job. Questions about the recycling drives? Want to volunteer to help? Contact Chairperson Tom Wessel.Fall and Spring Book Fairs
Students, parents and teachers look forward to this fun fundraising event every year which promotes reading at Mohr! This is the only fundraiser that benefits our school library. Our school receives a percentage of the total book sales from every fair. Questions about the book fairs? Want to volunteer to help? Each time you throw away a cereal box or soup can, you just might be throwing away an opportunity to financially support Mohr Elementary. Mohr PTA currently redeems both Box Tops for Education, available on General Mills packaging, and Labels for Education, available on Campbell's packaging. All General Mills cereals, in addition to many other everyday products, carry the Box Tops for Education coupons that are redeemable for cash by Mohr PTA. Simply by collecting these labels and bringing them to the office you can financially support Mohr with no cost to you! Last year almost $300 dollars was collected via this program.
Campbell's soup labels, in addition to many other everyday products, carry the Labels for Education coupons that are redeemable for school related merchandise by Mohr PTA. These labels can also be collected and brought into the office.
